A Mae Ping address with room choices that matter

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is at 123 Charoen Prathet Road, Chang Khlan, beside the Mae Ping River. The river setting is part of the attraction, but it does not mean every room faces the water. Choosing the outlook and accommodation category is central to getting the stay you expect.

The resort’s room collection spans Deluxe rooms and several distinct Lanna suites. These names should be kept separate: garden, river and terrace categories describe different arrangements, not interchangeable labels for one room.

Deluxe Garden View: outdoor space for two adults

The official Deluxe Garden View Room specification gives 50 square metres, a maximum of two adults and a king or twin beds. Its private balcony or terrace faces the garden, with a daybed for spending time outside. A separate bathtub and rain shower are listed, rather than a combined shower-over-bath arrangement.

A yoga mat, air purifier, Dyson hairdryer and flat-screen television feature in the equipment. The room therefore provides several practical comforts alongside its garden aspect. For a couple choosing this category, the attraction is having a substantial room and outdoor sitting space without paying for a river-view suite.

The garden outlook remains the defining distinction. A riverside hotel address should not override the room name on the confirmation.

Lanna River View Suite: more space and different occupancy

The Lanna River View Suite is listed at 105 square metres and accommodates three adults or two adults with two children. King and twin arrangements are offered. Full-length windows frame the river, with indoor and outdoor living areas, a balcony daybed and sofa bed.

The bathroom again separates the bathtub and rain shower. The combination gives a family or longer-stay party more room to spend time inside, while keeping the river outlook part of the daily experience. The occupancy limit differs materially from the Deluxe category; it should not be inferred from how many people might physically fit into a room.

The sofa-bed arrangement is also different from reserving a separate second bedroom. Confirm the bedding required for the party before committing to the suite.

Other garden and river categories remain distinct

The room collection separately lists the Lanna Garden View Suite at 105 square metres, overlooking the courtyard garden. The Lanna Garden Terrace Suite is a different, 150-square-metre category with an additional courtyard garden. A guest account using Terrace in the name should therefore not be treated as evidence about an ordinary Garden View Suite.

The Deluxe River View Room keeps the 50-square-metre footprint and two-adult maximum, with a river-facing balcony. That may be the more relevant comparison for a couple primarily seeking the river outlook. The suite decision adds space and a different occupancy allowance, rather than simply changing the view.

Family and arrival arrangements

The official FAQ says extra beds are not provided in Deluxe categories. It also says there are no connecting rooms, although adjoining rooms can be requested. Families needing separation should resolve that arrangement directly instead of assuming a connecting door.

The FAQ lists the airport at 4.5 kilometres away and says an airport transfer can be arranged for a charge, rather than offering a shuttle bus. Agree the transfer details separately from the room rate.

What July 2026 guests experienced

A Lanna Garden Terrace Suite guest, reviewing on 28 August after a July stay, appreciated space, quiet surroundings and night-market proximity, but found breakfast flavours ordinary and could not obtain a spa appointment. A Lanna Garden View Suite guest from July, reviewing on 6 September, instead praised breakfast, staff and the gym, while finding the Western restaurant gloomy and expensive.

A Deluxe Garden View guest’s July stay, also reviewed on 6 September, brought dissatisfaction with room scent, shower size and value. These reports describe different categories and personal priorities. They make the strongest case for deciding the room, dining expectations and any spa appointment together, with services that matter arranged ahead.
